Privacy notice

How I collect, use and look after the information you share on this site and through my contact channels: what, why, with whom, for how long, and how to exercise your rights.

Who is responsible for your information

Dan Fleitman Broder, physician (Mexican professional licence 4577424), with an address for notices at Av. Lomas Anáhuac 133-A-301, Col. Lomas Anáhuac, C.P. 52786, Huixquilucan, State of Mexico. For anything about privacy: dan@drfleitman.com.

What I collect

Only what you share with me:

  • Consultation: your name, your email and what brings you here.
  • Psychedelic integration: your name, your email and your message.
  • Supervision: your name, your email, your profession and, if you like, the cases you'd like to work on.
  • Talks: the event, the organization, the date, the city, the audience, your email and your message.
  • Articles: your email, to let you know when there's a new one.
  • Email or WhatsApp: your name, your email or phone number and what you write to me.

Sensitive information

On Consultation, on Psychedelic integration, by email or by WhatsApp you may tell me about your physical or mental health or about experiences with substances. The law treats this as sensitive personal data. Through the forms I only collect it with your express consent, which you give by ticking the box before sending. If you write to me by email or WhatsApp, sending me that information gives me your express consent to handle it under this notice. A first reply only needs the essentials: you don't have to share more than you want to.

On Supervision, don't include anything that could identify your patients.

Minors

This site and my services are meant for people over 18. If you're under 18, ask your mother, father or guardian to write to me.

What I use it for

Every use is needed to handle what you ask for:

  • Replying to your message and, if you wish, scheduling a consultation.
  • Keeping your place on the supervision waiting list.
  • Replying to speaking invitations.
  • Letting you know about new articles, only if you asked.

I don't use your information for advertising, and I don't sell it or share it for commercial purposes. If I ever wanted to use it for something else, I'd ask for your consent first.

If you begin treatment

If, after writing to me, you begin consultations with me, your information becomes part of your clinical record. The record is governed by Mexican standard NOM-004-SSA3-2012 and by medical confidentiality, and I keep it for the period that standard sets.

Who it's shared with

I don't transfer your information to third parties. To receive and keep your messages I use providers that handle them on my behalf and only as I instruct:

  • Página Viva, which runs this site and keeps requests on Google Cloud and DigitalOcean servers in the United States.
  • Resend, which emails me each request with what you wrote in it.
  • Base44, which hosts the site.

If you write to me by WhatsApp or email, your messages also pass through those services' servers, which handle them under their own privacy policies.

I would only share your information without your consent where the law allows it, for example if a competent authority requires it.

How I protect it

I use administrative, technical and physical measures to protect your information against loss, misuse or unauthorized access. Access to your messages is limited to me and to the providers that run the site, only as far as needed.

Browsing

The site counts visits in aggregate with the statistics of Base44, which hosts it (which page, from which country, on what kind of device), to understand how it's used; it doesn't identify you. Your browser remembers whether you've already seen the home page portrait appear; that doesn't leave your device, and you can clear it by deleting the site's data. I don't use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. The videos on the talks page are hosted on YouTube and don't load until you press play; from then on, YouTube (Google) receives your visit under its own privacy policy.

How long I keep it

As long as needed to handle your request and up to two years after our last contact. Article notices, until you ask to stop receiving them. After that, it's deleted. If you begin treatment, the clinical record's period applies.

Your rights

You can access, correct or cancel your information or object to its use (ARCO rights), withdraw your consent, or ask me to limit its use or disclosure. Write to dan@drfleitman.com with:

  • Your name and a way to reply to you.
  • A document proving your identity or, where relevant, your representative's.
  • Which information and what you're asking for.

I reply within 20 business days at most and, where it applies, carry it out within the following 15 business days. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect what was handled before, or information I must keep by law, such as the clinical record.

To stop receiving article notices, reply “unsubscribe” to any of them.

If you believe I didn't handle your request properly, you can go to the Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno, Mexico's authority on personal data protection.
